Out-of-Town Patients
Rhinoplasty is the most difficult cosmetic surgery to do well. As patients discover this, either because of a previous poor rhinoplasty or because they know someone who has gotten a bad result, they decide to go on a costly and time-consuming search across the country to find a surgeon who has mastered the craft. For many patients, this search ends with Dr. Golden.
Dr. Golden wants to help spare out-of-town patients the inconvenience of traveling to Michigan to consult with him. As such, he would be happy to look over your photos and consult with you over the phone. For a timely response send the following information to him via e-mail at
.
- Your full name
- Daytime and evening phone numbers
- High-resolution photos of your whole face including the following views:
- Frontal
- Left and right profile
- Left and right oblique (like a profile but your head is turned half-way toward the camera)
- Frontal with your head tilted backwards so the openings of your nostrils are visible
Timeline
While individual experiences may vary, here is a sample timeline of events leading to and following your surgery with Dr. Golden.
- You send in your photos and have a phone consultation.
- You and Dr. Golden decide to proceed with the surgery so you schedule a surgery date.
- Before surgery you may be required to have some basic blood work done by your local doctor.
- You see Dr. Golden the day before your scheduled surgery day so he can make sure you are a good candidate for the surgery.
- After the surgery you remain in town for about 5 nights. If you come to Troy on your own our office can arrange for a home-care medical professional to stay with you after the procedure and through the first night.
- About 5 days after surgery Dr. Golden will see you in his office before you leave town.
- Unless you have arrangements with another doctor in your home town, Dr. Golden will arrange for local follow-up care. You may or may not be charged for this by your local doctor.
- You can keep Dr. Golden up to date with any concerns you have regarding your healing by talking over the phone or sending pictures by e-mail. Of course you are always welcome to see Dr. Golden in the office.
