Rhinoplasty Patient 3

This girl received a closed rhinoplasty two weeks ago. One of the advantages of the closed approach over the open approach is a faster reduction in swelling.

Rhinoplasty Patient 4

Young girl who had her nose straightened (note the previous curvature to her left), hump removal, tip rotation (the tip was raised), tip deprojection (the tip was brought closer to her face), naso-labial angle correction (note its previous lack of definition), and tip refinement of a bulbous tip.

Rhinoplasty Patient 5

Gentleman with correction of dorsal hump and boxy tip. Note the drastic change in tip, generally the hardest part of the procedure to "get right." Dr. Golden is able to make such drastic changes using the closed approach. Note the difference in this gentleman's nose compared to some of the female noses on this site. This patient is left with a strong, straight profile with adequate projection of the tip away from the face and and a roughly 90 degree naso-labial angle.

The combination of conservative hump reduction and a radix graft left this gentleman with a masculine straight profile.

Rhinoplasty Patient 7

While every individual heals at their own pace, any given individual should heal faster with a closed rhinoplasty as opposed to an open rhinoplasty. Only one week post op from her closed rhinoplasty, this young woman has an exceptional result that will only get better as the swelling subsides.

Rhinoplasty Patient 8

Young girl with a very bulbous tip, dorsal hump, and skin thin enough to appreciate the underlying bony and cartilaginous structures. Thin skin is a blessing because it drapes over the altered structure of the nose nicely but for this very reason it is also a hindrance because it makes the smallest imperfections visible. Meticulous technique is required to prevent these small imperfections from being visible.

Rhinoplasty Patient 9

It is easy to see the swelling that exists in this patient since her relatively thin pre-op nose considerably larger in her post-op pictures. It can take up to a year for such swelling to dissipate after a rhinoplasty.

She had her nose straightened, dorsal hump removed, and her large anterior nasal spine reduced. The anterior nasal spine, the bony projection at the base of the nose that projects forward into the columella, in contributing to tip overprojection (the tip is too far in front of the face) and a blending of the upper lip into the base of the nose as opposed to a more aesthetically pleasing sharper angle. Note how these issues have been addressed in the post-op pictures.

This young man went to two other surgeons that only offered to reduce his hump. In addition to the hump reduction, Dr. Golden deprojected his nose (brought his tip closer to his face) by reducing the size of the nasal spine (a bony projection between the nostrils).

This patient was so happy with her primary rhinoplasty that she came back ten years post-op to bring her sister to see Dr. Golden.

An understanding and preservation of the underlying support structures of the nose allows Dr. Golden to achieve such stable long-term results.
